Re: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
I don't see why everyone wants FF7-2. It's all because of that really stupid FFX-2 thats only going to appeal to 12 year old boys and people that write FF fan fiction. I'm still downloading the trailer (stupid 56K), so I haven't seen any part of the movie yet. Square needs to just make a good 'ol fashion FF. Not an MMORPG, not a 2, just an old FF with a good story and characters for once. I'll take Locke over Cloud anyday.

theres another scan of a magazine just released, shows a new character and cloud riding a great looking motorbike, while holding his buster sword (not the same from the trailer)
not so sure about the shades tho cloud.... :annoyed:
also a new FFVII:AC trailer will apparently be included on the actual game disc of FFX-2 with new footage not shown at the tokyo game show. Source: Gamespot.
Also Square-Enix maybe showing some more footage on the 20-21 jump show..

There's that Pirate again!
um..
I remember reading somewhere that Sephiroth is not actually in the movie and that he was just in the trailer to get fans orgasming.
I forgot.
But the new guy is an enemy and the movie is only supposed to be an hour long.

I remember. But it did look like he dove behind a desk when the place went down... so there might be a small chance he survived. Also when you see Midgar after the meteor attack the Shinra HQ isn't completely destroyed. And you know as well as I do people don't stay dead.

Re: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
May as well pitch in my reply.
Rumours of the Plot are something about a disease following meteor and holy wiping nearly everyone out. That Ties in with what Bugenhagen said about Holy's judgement and that it could wipe out what it considers to be cancerous to the planet by anymeans necessary.
Who says holy itself won't ressurect Sephiroth to do the job as well as a world wide epidemic?
______________
Oh yeah, Sephiroth couldn't have a brother. He was genetically produced through the Jenova project and most of the numbered "Clones" (The black characters in Nibelheim when you visit it) were killed by Sephiroth in the Reunion.
Its probably Sephiroth.
Why wouldn't he be in the movie if he is on the Movie logo.
As Barrett is in the movie I say pay Dennis Haysbert to Voice him.

And cause Lucrecia...yeah.
I'm too lazy to look back but I hope they'll include Aeris or something, she'll probably look dorky or something, although most of the characters (except Barret, thank you Ness X_x) look okay from the pictures. And as for the epidemic, I'm a little skeptical, I mean, remember SARS, anthrax and the flu stuff goin round now? Unless it was something like a black plague, THEN I would believe it.
If they ressurect Aeris, then I shall shoot the guys whose idea it was to do so. Not because I hate Aeris, because Cloud is for Tifa. Yes. CloTi fangirl, rawr. Of course... maybe, possibly this is a hint toward an FFVII-2. It's been much demanded, and I'm sure it would rake in a bit. That's a big maybe though.

It is very, very unlikely that Lucrecia had another child but it is a small, yet dumb possibility. He wasn't genetically produced as you put it because he was injected with the Jenova cells while in the womb. He's the spawn of Hojo and Lucrecia, even though I think he may be Vincents child after all...

Re: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
Actually, as Sephiroth was injected by Jenova Cells, he was therefore Genetically produced on a biological scale. How else would you explain his immense power etc.
ONE THEORY (Albeit a bit ridiculous.)
Square could play the twin Sephiroth possibility. One sephiroth being the errandboy seen in FFVII for the real Sephiroth in the crater (In the Materia core) as seen on Disc 2.
Meaning one Sephiroth was left behind as the Genuine is destroyed, holy's judgement ressurects Sephiroth (Genuine) and he manipulates the alternate Sephiroth that Survived FFVII to Battle Cloud as he regenerates (Hence the figure in the Wheelchair.)
Sephiroth's clones were never explained. Especially as Vincent confirms that Sephiroth IS Dead following the Nibelheim incident. Considering Cloud "killed" Sephiroth then, he probably floated into the planet core through the Mako he fell into. Shinra then recreated a Clone to cover up the Incident only to be struck with failure following the real Sephiroth's ability to manipulate the Cells within the Cloned Sephiroth.

Yeah, but he was still BORN. Meaning he wasn't produced, i.e. lab-test-tub baby. I think we're referring to the same thing, I'm just misinterperating your word usage. Anyhoo. About the clones; I have always wondered what those clones look like. In the game they are just shown as black hooded figures but I'm wondering if they all look like Sephiroth underneath. That's not important though. So many fun questions, so little time. + ghey.

The one in Midgar near Wall Market had black hair, and look nothing like Sephiroth when Cloud talks to him... I believe he was number 9... gotta look into that...
Cloud needs better taste in sunglasses...
Also somehow the US has a confirmed date while Japan doesn't for 7/10/04...
Somehow I think they goofed up...

Re: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
My theory about the supposed clones were that they were surviving members of Nibelheim taken and Tested on by Shinra.
Another one could be that there were all Members of SOLDIER First Class. As members who make it to SOLDIER First Class were all injected with Jenova Cells as well as being exposed to Mako. Since no SOLDIER First Class officiers are encountered besides Sephiroth and Flashbacks of Zack, its possible that the Black coats are members are the SOLDIER First Class who have been affected by the Cells and then summoned for the Reunion.

I hope Clouds Glasses are only a Promo shot.
And the US release could have been mentioned first if they are developing the Movie from the Facilities made to produce the First FF Movie in the US. Probably wrong but it would make sense.
Either way, I hope another Trailer detailing more of the plot or some sort of press announcement of this movie is released soon as FFXII looks piss.

Re: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
I just blew up the picture, and I found that the bottom-right picture appears to be Cloud standing over Aeris. The righthand text says "Aeris?!" next to it. But why would they put "Aeris!?" as if she came back again, when we can plainly see that the picture is either a flashback, or she died... again. Of course, I blow at translating, so it's simple speculation.
Let's hope Barret doesn't braid his own hair. Jeez, trying to braid your hair with a cannon-sized machine gun for an arm would make for one bloody, pulpy mess. Hell, that is not Barret. WTF cornrows? Where's his fro? He needs fro. And his gun is too girly. His gun is like a pimp cane, it's the souce of his powers. It needs to be as black as he is, and be able to kill yaks from over 200 yards away, that's how things get done. Barret is Mr. T and we all know it.

It's no rumour, thats the real story. Gamespot confirmed it long ago. barret looks good, Aeris I could give a shit, so leave it be Amber, she is supposed to be in the flick anyway. And the rumor i'm hearing is that the movie is supposed to lead up to FFVII-2. Sqaure, no skimpy, pop singing, bitches again.

In Migar when Hojo is about to fire Twin Sister, you fight 1st class SOLDIER... Although it happens after the reunion which might mean they got bumped up a rank cause the 1st class was killed...

[Cloud is shown walking down the aisle of a church]
[Cloud is shown riding motorbike and is attacked by silver haired enemy]

[Cloud is shown riding motorbike through a forest, he is attacked by silver haired men with guns]
Woman: Was the way I died a good way?
[Lifestream is shown]

Re: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
just saw some more info on the movie >.> ill post it but sorry if u all knew about this im abit slow lol :P
-Cloud will use 6 swords. These are stored in his motorcycle which is called "Fenrir".
-The function of Barret's right arm has changed.
-There are three opponents, the original silver haired enemy, and two others.
-The original silver haired enemy is a teenager; the newer enemies are aged in their 20s.
-The weapon which the two opponents use is called Velvet Nightmare.
-The silver haired enemy uses a refined double sword, and is referred to as being a Motif or Tricky (dunno which, two translations on this).
-Afterimage effects for the movie run at 480 frames per second.
-The movie is now 15% complete.
-Cloud's sunglasses are more practical than for fashion, as they serve the purpose of protecting his eyes.
-The movie will now run for somewhere between 70 and 80 minutes instead of the 60 minutes we were originally told.
-Cloud's character model has been altered, in order to reflect a more younger appearance.
-The original silver haired enemy is the leader. Although his name is yet to be released, it has a simple meaning.
-The three opponents all have different abilities, although they look similar in facial structure.
-Although the opponents are male, they may appear to have feminine qualities also.

Re: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
Don't worry Nelo, all that really means is.
"Because we are making him appear more human, we have had to add more detail to his face."
Besides, it's not like you could really tell how old he was in the game just by looking at him. This will probably be a lot more accurate.

Well I think he's technically 23 in AC so I'm assuming he's they are not going to make him look like a 12 year old.

i believe maybe they have brought the movie to test how popular the fandom of ff vii is today since ff vii was along time ago now. so maybe the film will have the say on if they carry on with the ff vii story or not. ie if they release ff vii-2 or not.
also i hope the voice actors in the movie reflect the characters well :s because if we do see a ff vii-2 in the futer they are probably to be voice acting the game aswell

well maybe they just wanna make sure so if they make another game it will sell cause they would be spening alot of money and time on it, so its practicle to test if the fans want more or not.

Re: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
If square do plan to release FFVII-2 The game then the movie will no doubt be like what the Eternal Calm was to FFX.
Only 80mins long and more interesting, but with a cliffhanger at the end which ties to the game.
_______
Anyways back to VA's I thought Clouds VA in Kingdom Hearts was pretty cool.
Can't say I liked Aeriths voice though.
Still stand by my opinion of Dennis Haysbert (Sp?) For Barret.

Which we all know WILL happen. They probably are comming up with shit for it right now. I'd rather see a sequel to FF4 or FF8.

FF8 could not have a sequel there was nothing to wrap up, In FF8 every1 lived happily ever after, in FFVII the true ending is unknown, but apparently one of the major questions has been answered does any1 survive apart from Red 13 and his clan well clearly yes if this movie is set after FFVII
But to be honest no Final Fantasy should have a sequel its not ment to be like that, it just seems to me like Square are milking the franchise. I hate the fact theres a FFX-2 so I don't want FFVII to go that way or any other

Re: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
Since when was there a rule that stated that FF games had to be original and not continue as sequels.
Square have never said that.
Different stories were made for each game as it matched Sakaguchi (Sp)'s love for storytelling. So why is it a million and one fanboys start screaming when they do start production of sequels. (Not directed at anyone in particular)
Its not out of lack of originality considering a sequel was being written for FFVII years ago (Confirmed by square but it was conceptual work and was only really for archive only, there are hundreds of conceptual scripts that Squaresoft make, and alot of them are sequel material.)

Re: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
Ever since its creation Final Fantasy has never had a sequel (until FF X-2) I look forward to the new world, new characters, different system etc. Fans since its creation will understand why I don't like the idea of sequels.

Re: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
After I've completed a FinalFantasy, I like nothing better then to play another Final Fantasy, knowing that the magic and battle systems will be varied and that the characters are different.
By the end of a FF game, no one can beat the characters anyway. No point in a sequal unless you can become level 97140970471038190238138918309193018093819023898318 31893018381874914137. And then the enemies would have to have about 21798127319074809170418741902378190471975918638917 24918629871920361290731988471096913641897 Hp, which would be stupid and annoying to read.

You're gonna love FF12 then.
Its practically a sequel considering the world its in ties with FFT advance and the races and Judges are identical.
I've been a fan since I got my hands on FFV on the Snes back in the day.
Got every game since and backtracked to get the previous games aswell (Albeit flipping expensive sometimes) and I actually like the idea of making sequels for games like FFVII as there was alot you could do with the world and characters, same for FFX and FFVI .

Re: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
I just got a issue of GMR and they are saying that a little info. leaked or rumors saying that the 2 new unannounced SqaureEnix games are a Chrono game called Chrono Break (I thought Chrono Generations would be a better title but still they are skeptical about it) and FFVII-2 game, but it's gonna be a action-rpg game similar to KH but with Cloud as the main character.

Re: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
Chrono Break was trademarked by Square 2 years ago (Maybe one I forget).
Thats a cert to be a upcoming game but thats speculation.
Nothing has been released aboot FFVII-2 Besides the movie.

Sepiroth looks like a scary old woman.
But this does look very pretty. I hope it's as good as it looks.
I can't wait to see Vincent.
